What I’m Watching:

The battle of the van Riemsdyks (Toronto and Chicago) because I love brotherly competition. There’s a Conference III Belt battle tonight with Dallas at Minnesota. Finally, Vancouver at Edmonton, for my home team.

Player(s) to Watch:

  • Tyler Johnson (Lightning) is having an amazing sophomore season. His Calder nominee companion Ondrej Palat isn’t doing too shabby himself. Add in Jonathan Drouin and there’s a lot of young talent to make for a dangerous team.
  • Patric Hornqvist (Penguins) has been showing the rest of the league what Predators fans have known for awhile. He’s amazing. True fact: he was taken last in the 2005 Draft. And I think we all know who was taken first in that draft. None other than his linemate, Sidney Crosby. In hindsight, if you think that Hornqvist should have been taken earlier, please raise your hand [everybody better have their hand up.]
  • Tom Sestito makes his season debut for the Canucks in place of the suspended Alex Burrows. Is this the return of Top Sixtito?!! Please God No.
