• Lance Bouma (Flames) will be re-evaluated tomorrow and he could play in Chicago. Gaustad (Preds) hit Bouma and he needed help up. He headed to the locker room. There was no penalty on the play and it appeared that Bouma tripped directly before hit.
• Tyler Seguin (stars) had a hattrick!
• Jamie Benn (Stars) had a Gordie Howe hattrick!
• It could be 7-10 days before Valeri Nichushkin (Stars; groin/hip) practices with the team again.
• Tyler Johnson (Lightning) played his 100th game tonight.
• With his assist tonight, Alex Ovechkin passed Mike Gartner (392) for second place on the Caps assists list. He is 26 goals back from Michal Pivonka (418) for first place.
• Canes’ Andrej Sekera (upper body) left the game and would not return.
• Jarome Iginla (Avalanche) and Dion Phaneuf (Leafs) dropped the gloves but the linesmen wouldn’t let them fight.
• Viktor Fasth (Oilers) left the game with a groin injury and would not return.
• Jeff Skinner (Hurricanes) took part in the morning skate and could return to the lineup as early as Thursday.

What I’m Watching:

Hopefully I’m home in time for Calgary at Nashville. I’m off to get my Enhanced Driver’s License this morning so that I can see the Canucks next month!! If not, I’ll definitely make Edmonton at Los Angeles. The Oilers are very intriguing to me this year. They have all the pieces, it seems. It’s just utilizing them.

Player(s) to Watch:

• Victor Hedman (Lightning) is the current league leader in points. Keep an eye on him.
• Should Alex Stalock start in net for the Sharks, let’s see if he continues his 0.00 GAA or if his hot streak is finally over.
• Watch out for the combo of Shea Weber and Roman Josi (Predators) tonight versus Calgary. Also, will James Neal net his first goal for them?
• After being pulled in the last game because of a nasty hit, James Reimer will start in net for the Leafs. Hopefully he’s not hiding a concussion.

Look, I get it. You want to stay involved and there’s not exactly teams knocking on your door. But a podcast/radio show is not the solution. Try co-hosting, guest appearances on established shows – MvsW, Steve Dangle Podcast, etc. I’m all for encouraging creativity, but I think this would be a mistake.
